Collection: Werifesteria

A new collection inspired by Canada's rich Temperate Rain-forest.

Werifesteria describes the process of wondering longingly through the woods in search of mystery or magic. This term resonates with me, as I often find myself in the woods and always feels a sense of magic with mother nature. 

Artworks feature large cedars, hemlocks and maples canopying a rich forest floor of ferns, devils club and lichens. These paintings aim to explore nuanced shapes and colours, while paying respect to Susan Simard's research on Mother Trees. Cedars that have been studied and demonstrate that tree's actually talk: they send each other messages and resources through a rich underground mycelium network.

I hope these artworks show the mystery and complexity of our rain-forests.
