My absolute favorite bird this past season. Here in BC we are lucky to get the Red-Shafted Northern Flicker gracing our yards and trees. They flick their tails, showing their beautiful red foliage and iconic white rump. This bird is a real treasure to me, they are both beautiful and full of character!
